Job Description
AECOM is currently seeking a Field Technician based in our Sault Ste Marie, ON office.
This is a temporary position expected to last approximately 4 months starting in May 2025.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Provides basic support in the areas of construction administration and inspection activities in support of projects.
Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating field survey equipment, inspecting construction installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.
General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
Performs routine tasks while working under close supervision.
Entry-level position, previous experience may not be required.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- High-school diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technician/Technology program or an equivalent program
An understanding of road/roadside construction, stormwater and /or wastewater collection systems is preferred but not mandatory.
Accuracy with details is essential
Ability to meticulously review project documentation, drawings, and specifications to support inspections.
Ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently and creatively in the field.
Basic proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) to assist with documentation, reporting, and data management.
Engineering students or individuals with a strong interest in engineering are preferred.
Comfortable in working independently in both an office and field environment.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $20.00/hour - $25.00/hour.
