AECOM’s Enterprise Capabilities team is looking for an Engineer - Hydraulics & Drainage to join our team in Madrid.

We are currently recruiting an Engineer with experience in road and railway drainage design , to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects.

Our clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering water designs for many years throughout the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand among others. You may have the opportunity to work on some of the most iconic Transportation and Water projects, being part of a diverse and multicultural team for the Europe Global Delivery Center (Poland/Spain).

Here is what you will do:

  • Works on detailed engineering assignments involving drainage calculations and design for road or railway drainage.

  • Performs hydraulics and drainage engineering work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule with minimal supervision.

  • Accomplishes work autonomously on small projects or portions of larger projects supported by EC.

  • Performs self-checks of work products before submission and participates in quality control reviews of documentation from equally or less experienced staff.

  • Prepares project deliverables that are reviewed by senior team members.

  • Provides guidance to entry-level engineers.

Here's what we're looking for:

  • Proven track record of working on road or railway drainage designs (6+ years).

  • Skilled in hydraulics and hydrology software packages related to drainage, such as Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis and/or StormCAD, HEC-RAS/HMS, etc.

  • Advanced level in CAD/BIM/Digital Engineering techniques (preferably Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer).

  • Experience with international regulations and standards (i.e. AASTHO, AWWA, Australian Codes, British Standards, etc.) will be considered favorably.

  • Experience working in the North America region/Australia will be considered favorably.

  • Fluent in English, both oral and written.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental or Water Engineering or related field.
