Job Description

AECOM is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team in procuring water/wastewater treatment equipment. This role is critical in supporting our clients needs relating to large capital projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced in procurement implementation/coordination, supplier relationship management, legal and commercial negotiation, and coordinating closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Interaction and Management:

  • Engage with vendors throughout the negotiation process, driving agreements to close.

  • Meet requirements for completeness, competitiveness, compliance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and alignment stakeholder standards.

  • Collaborate closely with the wider project teams, including the Owner, Engineers, Legal etc.

Contract Preparation and Legal Coordination:

  • Negotiate contracts for selected vendors, and coordinate with legal counsel as needed.

Industry Knowledge and Pricing Trends:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends to ensure accurate pricing and effective vendor management.

  • Leverage market insights to optimize procurement and support cost-efficiency goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline: engineering, finance, business, etc.

  • 6+ years experience of procurement related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with large infrastructure capital project delivery is an asset.

  • Experience with municipal government clients is an asset.

  • Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of vendor management and contract negotiation.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders.

  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent) is an asset.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Excel).

  • Knowledge of water/wastewater treatment equipment and related industry standards is an asset.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $130,000.00.
