Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Structural Bridge Engineer to be based in Boston, MA, Chelmsford, MA, or Manchester, NH. In this role, the ideal candidate will lead the design effort and project management for bridge projects in Connecticut and other states through AECOM’s Northeast region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following:
Serves as Lead Bridge Engineer on small to mid-size projects.
Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
Participates in development of technical proposals.
Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.
Initiates and creates project designs and plans with responsibility for preparing presentation and design drawings
Detailed bridge design including preparation of complete calculation packages, and development of structural details.
Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
Will produce detailed design of concrete and steel structural elements in accordance with AASHTO LRFD specifications.
Serves as a fully capable professional with minimal direction
Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications
Prepare and contribute to the development and implementation of technical approach in projects with the full collaboration with the project manager.
Meets with clients to ensure client needs are met
work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Develops estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience using AutoCAD and/or other similar computer software
Professional Engineer (PE) license
Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) years of relevant experience is preferred
Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering
Project experience with MassDOT and/or other State DOT’s is desired
Experience with CSi, Midas, AASHTO Ware, Bentley Suite

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $140,000.00.
