Job Description

With our current Practice Leader – Program Management (PgM), New Zealand moving internally to an exciting new project, we are searching for our next influential leader.

We’re seeking a strategic, collaborative and people-focused professional to help shape and grow our national PgM business across the buildings and infrastructure sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for a director-level project management leader who’s ready to make a meaningful impact within a global, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy.

As a key member our Buildings + Places leadership team, you’ll help shape and strengthen our PgM practice, working closely with stakeholders to achieve outstanding results across a wide range of projects.

  • Provide inspirational coaching and mentoring to a well-established, diverse national team of program and project management professionals.

  • Building and nurturing long-term client relationships, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional high-quality outcomes.

  • Elevating AECOM’s profile across both horizontal and vertical sectors, contributing to our strong industry presence.

  • Be a visible and passionate advocate for our integrated, multi-disciplinary approach - driving innovation, collaboration and connection across local and global teams.

While our preference is for this role to be based in Auckland, we’re open to Hamilton, Wellington, or Christchurch for the right candidate.

  • A strong presence in the vertical infrastructure sector, paired with a genuine passion for growing business, engaging clients, delivering with excellence, and supporting your people to thrive.

  • With deep client relationships and an established network, you’re comfortable exploring new opportunities, whether that’s expanding into sectors like energy transition and water or continuing to shape exceptional outcomes in buildings and infrastructure.

  • A track record of delivery excellence within the buildings and/or infrastructure sector, bringing innovative, high-quality projects to life, on time and with impact.

  • A people-first mindset. You care about your team’s growth, creating an environment where everyone is encouraged to develop their strengths, pursue technical excellence, and take pride in delivering great work.

  • You bring thoughtful leadership, exceptional coaching abilities, and the confidence to influence at a director level.
