Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Technician to join our Architecture + Interiors studio in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our architectural projects from concept to completion, ensuring technical accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.
Prepare and revise detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications using BIM software
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to develop and refine design solutions
Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and project requirements
Conduct site visits to gather information and verify existing conditions
Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including technical reports and presentations
Coordinate with contractors and consultants to resolve technical issues during construction
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards
Uses applications to scale and edit assignments involving computer-aided design and other graphics software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit/Rhino) to achieve set results and deadlines.
Digitize or trace sketches/ concepts from designers to AutoCAD or Revit.
Leads in preparing and producing drawings accurately at preliminary, detailed design and tender stages and suggests improvements where necessary.
Applies industry knowledge and technical expertise to complete moderately complex tasks independently, seeking guidance for atypical assignments.
Accountable for specific project components with an impact on the team, other project teams, and external stakeholders.
Analyzes issues, applies solutions within defined parameters, and contributes to procedural improvements and new ideas.
Collaborates with internal teams on routine and non-routine matters, while guiding less experienced colleagues.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or a related field
Acredited Architectural Technologist
Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural drafting or a related field with demonstrable relevant project experience and responsibility
Proficiency in BIM software, particularly Autodesk software and Revit
Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods
Excellent technical drawing skills and attention to detail
Solid understanding of architectural design principles and sustainable design practices
Proven project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects efficiently
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience working on projects in the UAE or Middle East region is preferred
Relevant or additional certifications in BIM/architectural software or building codes are a plus
Willingness to travel to project sites as required
